Back in 2005-ish, I was hanging out in my garage on the west side of Columbus, with my roommate. He was gifted an old rusty Studebaker pickup truck that he was using to build a rat rod. We had terrible tools and equipment then, being in our early 20's and broke, but we did have a little stick welder that I was fascinated with. My roomie taught me to use it, and I was hooked. I welded some of the old car parts we had lying around into random sculpture and furniture. I was working at a hot rod shop at the time, so I was able to bring junk parts home and practice. I liked welding so much that I took some classes at the local community college. I joined an artist community workshop to get more tool time, and eventually began teaching welding classes there. As a full-time firefighter and paramedic with the City of Columbus, art is not my primary means of income. I do enjoy creating, though, and also teaching various forms of art to others. Please contact me with any questions, and thanks for visiting!
